Femininity, Empowerment and Headwear

"If you are there, then help me. Take my life and use me." This is how I cried, lying on my mother’s bathroom floor. Tired, filled with defeat and ready to just stay there. From that moment, everything changed. God heard me. I got the biggest embrace and then there was peace. All the questions, the doubts, the longing, and the restlessness disappeared. In that peace were every answer, faith, rest, and gratitude.
I have had a life of chaos, betrayal, abuse, violence, and loneliness. I have always believed in God. As a child, I prayed every night before going to sleep. I lay there with my hands folded, looking up at the sky. I prayed for God to take care of everyone in the whole world, and for Him not to forget anyone. There is nothing like the faith of a child. That faith faded. And there were periods when it was forgotten altogether. Chapters in my life filled with heavy, dark shadows, which make thoughts gloomy and where no light can shine. I have sought, I have tried, I have waited, I have fallen, I have fallen into pieces. Many times. But it brought me to the place, where I could recognize my naked self. And I was ready to surrender. I got back my childlike faith, as good as new.
There will always be trials throughout life, I have to recognize that – and life changes all the time. But you can choose your next step – and that is what matters. Forgiveness is an important part of growth, and it may also be the most difficult. But it opens the door to your future.”
